2012 Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference a success for IDville!

by Kayla 29. June 2012 15:15
Kayla
I just returned from the 2012 Society for Human Resources Management Annual Conference and it was a huge success! It was a packed show with over 14,000 attendees and 650 exhibitors. "The exhibit hall was like the size of a small city with vendors from around the country giving away awesome gifts while pitching their products and services. It was impressive!” commented David, Identification Expert. This is the second year that IDville has particiapted in this conference and it's been a wonderful experience.

IDville participated as an exhibit sponsor June 24-26 in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center. We were able to speak with over 1,100 HR professionals about the importance of photo identification and security in the workplace.
Like our Facebook Fan Page!
Falon, Dan, David, & Kayla enjoying SHRM 2012!

As a new addition to the IDville team, it was great to meet new people and see their excitement towards implementing and/or updating their current photo identification system. It seemed as though many of the HR professionals I chatted with were either frustrated with their outdated ID system or their current system was simply too complicated. By having our ID Maker Systems on hand we were able to perform live demos to show how easy it is to design and print IDs from your desktop.  To view sample ID cards, check out our ID card library.

Part of the fun was seeing the eagerness of the attendees to sign up for our raffle prizes! We raffled of 2 sets of 2 tickets to the world famous Georgia Aquarium and a $200 Visa gift card. Congratulations to Sandy from Georgia and Laura from Michigan. They were our 2 lucky winners for the aquarium tickets. Also congratulations to Rod from Nebraska who won our $200 Visa gift card. Enjoy! Be sure to “like” our Facebook Fan Page and check out photos from the conference.

I look forward to attending the Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference in 2013 in the wonderful city of Chicago and seeing some familiar faces!

June is National Safety Month: Promote Safety with ID Maker & Quantix!

by Kayla 7. June 2012 09:35
Kayla

It’s National Safety Month! Every year during the month of June, the National Safety Council encourages organizations to get involved and participate in National Safety Month. How do you plan to participate in promoting safety this year?

Here's a little background information: National Safety Month is an annual observance to educate and influence behaviors around the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. At  IDville  we’re excited to participate in National Safety Month by promoting visitor management tools and ID Maker™ Systems to ensure the safety of all staff and visitors.
Learn more about National Safety Month
Tracking visitors is an important part of ensuring safety, but it can easily get overlooked if a visitor management system hasn’t been implemented. Not only does it keep buildings safe from theft and violence, it promotes a feeling of security and well-being throughout organizations.  If your organization doesn’t encounter a high volume of visitors on a daily basis, our temporary ID systems and visitor bundles include everything you need to start your visitor program.

Photo identification systems go hand-in-hand with safety when it comes to the staff that makes up your organization. The ID Maker System is a quick and simple solution to identify who has authorization to be on the premises, who is a visitor, and who is a staff member. Utilizing HID Prox cards for ID badges permits access control to each person who enters the building and promotes a higher level of security.

During National Safety Month each week is centered on a critical safety issue. This year’s issues include Employee Wellness, Ergonomics, Fall Prevention, and Driving Safety. Workplace safety is one of the most critical functions of any organization. Whether it’s ensuring the physical safety of your employees or providing a sense of security, it’s vital to ensure each and every staff member knows what is expected of them when it comes to safety.

There are various fun ways to engage your employees in National Safety Month. I suggest committing to having one meeting a week centered on the weekly topic and have a trivia game at the end. You can reward employees for participating with an extended lunch break, gift cards, coupons, etc. Or why not round up some teams to help perform A Million Acts of Safety. It’s a great way to get your employees involved and help promote workplace safety in your organization and in the community. Happy National Safety Month!

Your “Top 5 Questions Regarding Photo ID Systems” Answered

by david 15. May 2012 12:03
david
Whether you’re a government agency or healthcare provider; educational institution or manufacturing facility; your business has a compelling reason to use photo identification. Determining if your company has a need for a photo identification system is easy. The time consuming part is deciding what kind of photo ID system to implement. Let me answer some of the most common questions I get asked as a System Expert.

 Shop Safety Badge Reels

1. What system will work best for my needs?
That depends. How many IDs do you plan to print in a year? Do you want single or dual-sided printed cards? Do you need a high level of security? Most importantly, what will your budget allow? No matter what features you need; we have the right photo ID system for you.

2. What does my Photo ID System include?
Everything you need to start creating and printing IDs right out of the box! Each of our photo ID systems includes our ID Maker Pro software, a card printer, a Cam, a white backdrop, (1) full-color YMCKO printer ribbon and 100-500 PVC ID cards.

3. What are the differences between PVC ID cards and laminate ID cards?
PVC vs. laminate ID cards: PVC ID cards must be printed using a photo ID printer with special printing technologies. Laminate IDs  can be printed from any inkjet or laser printer on our 40lb. photo-quality paper stock and then laminated using a laminator and laminates. PVC ID cards result in better image quality in turn giving your organization a sharper representation.

4. What do I need to ensure my IDs are visible? IDs may be worn around the neck, inside of a badge holder, or attached to a badge reel. Lanyards are worn around the neck and keep your ID visible on your chest. We offer many different colors and styles depending on your budget. Click here to see our all of our lanyards.

To keep your ID protected from the elements, keep it inside of a badge holder. Badge holders come in many different styles, from clear, to colored, to sealable, to hard plastic. Click here to view our badge holder selection.

Badge Reels are great for IDs being used with a time & attendance or door access system. Most retractable badge reels extend up to 36 inches, making your ID easily accessible and visible at the same time. You can even customize your badge reels with your company name and logo and even each individual team member's name. Click here to see all of our badge reel options.

5. I’m having issues? Can you help me?
Of course we can! Give us a call at 1-866-438-4553 or email us at support@IDville.com. Did you know we provide free lifetime support? You can also visit our tech support page to find electronic copies of your printer or software manual and trouble-shooting guides.

Does this answer all of your questions? I doubt it. That’s why our System Experts are here to help walk you through the process of purchasing a photo ID system. The ID Maker 2.0 software  gives you the tools you need to create bold, secure, and professional IDs right from your desktop. It’s that easy. Request your FREE systems information packet today, and you’ll be that much closer to having a photo ID system implemented in your company!

New White Paper Shares the Importance of ID Card Systems and ID Badges

by dan 27. March 2012 07:00
dan

We are excited to announce the release of our white paper “ID Card Systems – Why Identify?“ This white paper is perfect if you’re researching the benefits an ID card system can bring to your workplace.

ID card systems outfit students, staff, and visitors with a photo ID badge that can be worn on the premises each day. It also helps to identify visitors who may not have a legitimate reason to be on the premises. You can use your ID card system to restrict access to the building by using proximity cards, also known as contactless cards, and this has been established as a workplace prevention strategy.

Download Now

The primary benefits of an ID card system are increased security and efficiency, and an ID card system can offer these benefits with at a lower cost than other forms of security. When you download the white paper, you’ll get clear examples of the benefits in both education and healthcare environments.

For example, schools that require students and staff to display an ID badge create a safe atmosphere. You’ll also find that ID badges are more cost effective and inviting in a school than other forms of security, such as cameras, guards, and metal detectors.  Plus, you can increase efficiency with ID badges by integrating library and lunch systems through a barcode on the badge. All this can be done by designing your own ID badges!

Healthcare organizations can also prevent both physical and intellectual security breaches by implementing an ID card system. With more medical records being stored electronically, it is crucial that you protect patient information by restricting facility access. ID badges can communicate authorization levels and help staff members clearly identify who does and does not belong.

Over time, an ID card system pays for itself, and you’ll quickly see financial, security, and morale returns on the investment. If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of an ID card system can get detailed information and data in our “ID Card Systems – Why Identify?” white paper in the Knowledge Center.
